It’s not her fault she’s all alone
What was she to do? Could she control that her mom ran away And that her dad didn’t want her anymore? Now several years later She wanders the street Looking for something to eat Somewhere to live Something to keep her alive. He opens the door to his million-dollar mansion With possessions belonging only to him. His five cars parked neatly in the garage His nine TVs in their rightful spot. He thinks in this head, laughs out happily. Never heard of the word “share”. All for one and one for all? No, not in this man’s mind. Chorus Ever realize that two dollars put together Is more than some can dream of? That all they ever wanted was a single slice of bread? Yet others walk around Money flowing out of their pockets And still they desire more. Never enough money. If only they were to understand that by giving up Their Scrooge image, Lives could be saved. She sits on the floor In front of a store Her hat on her lap, her clothes on her back. She waits for that someone to give her a prize. A quarter… a nickel… a penny… a dime. Many people come and go Look her right in the eye. But there’s no Robin Hood here tonight. So she sits patiently and waits. The limo drives down the street His own personal chauffeur, Stereo blasting aloud. He looks out the window only to see Her. He recognizes her, only difference is a loss in weight. She still resembles the baby she was at birth Yet instead of giggling and smiling like she used to She now looks sad, upset and alone. But he doesn’t do anything. No he doesn’t. He just drives away To his million-dollar home.
